URBAN MICRO-GREENING

This balcony project explores how small private outdoor spaces in dense cities can become atmospheric, ecologically active, and seasonally responsive.

Using mostly perennial plants and reused materials, I developed a design that prioritizes microclimate, biodiversity, and spatial experience. The balcony functions as a living extension of the apartment—offering shade, scent, structure, and softness throughout the year.

As an ongoing experiment, it changes with the seasons: plants bloom, fade, and reappear in new constellations.

The project advocates for climate-sensitive design at the domestic scale, and reflects how even small-scale, personal spatial interventions can contribute to a more livable, resilient urban environment. It suggests that quality of life and ecological awareness begin with the immediate spaces we shape around ourselves.
